About Will Boone

View Profile »

Will Boone (b. 1982) creates canvases that pack an immediate visual punch. Speaking to Andrew Russeth of W Magazine, Boone said, “The place where the thing gets fucked up –that’s the moment of beauty.” Born in Houston, Texas, Boone’s embrace of the seedier elements of American culture (dive bars, prisons, gas stations, and cheap restaurants) translates into rough, graphic abstractions that tap into the viewing public’s communal identity. In December 2014, he had a prominent solo show at the Rubell Family Collection, and has since been featured in many of the top contemporary art galleries worldwide including Gagosian, Andrea Rosen, David Kordansky, Venus Over Manhattan, Jonathan Viner, and Peres Projects.
