Description

Wiktor Gorka’s striking and confrontational swastika design for the Polish release of “Cabaret” references the dark Nazi undertones that pervade the film. It was nominated for a total of 10 Academy Awards–winning 8 but losing out on Best Picture to The Godfather. After an Academy love affair with musicals throughout the 60s, Bob Fosse was the last to win an award for Best Director for a musical until”La La Land.” Similarly, Liza Minnelli was the last performer to win Best Actress for a musical until Emma Stone for “La La Land.”
