Description

An integral part of Bob Melet’s work are his concept boards, in which Melet meticulously organises objects and memorabilia gathered from his journeys around a certain theme. This “Black Power Concept Board” took Melet over ten years to collect. The textiles backing the board are all political, and over the top are layered a variety of political t-shirts, framed art, and other things that pertain from the black art of Africa to the shores of America. Through this complex work, Melet aims to highlight Haile Selassie, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Mohammad Ali as they were all the figureheads of the Black Power movement.

This is a conceptual work comprised of independent pieces that can be rearranged to suit the buyer's desire.

Some notable works from the inventory include:
- A gelatin silver photograph of Malcolm X
- First edition of the "Black Panther Intercommunal News Service"
- A Haile Selassie T-Shirt
- Several editions of the "Golden Legacy" comic series
- A belt buckle featuring Mohammad Ali
- A "Front Line Virgin Rock US" T-Shirt
