About Terry O'NeillView Profile »
Terry O’Neill (English, b. 1938) is a photographer known for documenting fashion and celebrity in the 1960s. O’Neill captures his subjects candidly, often in unconventional settings. He began his career in a photographic unit at Heathrow Airport, London. He photographed a sleeping figure in the waiting area of the airport, who happened to be Britain’s Home Secretary. This image spurred his employment at “The Daily Sketch” in 1959, which led to his first job of photographing Sir Laurence Olivier. He captured such illustrious subjects as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Judy Garland, Elton John, and the Royal Family. In 2011, O’Neill was awarded the Royal Photographic Society’s Centenary medal.Interested in consigning works by Terry O'Neill? Learn more »
