This body of small paintings represents an exploration of water, color, light, dark, shape and rhythm, culminating in compositions with varying levels of subjective meaning. The paintings are non-formulaic; instead, they are "of the present," receiving promptings from the body (eyes), Heart, and Spirit. Understanding these paintings is like interpreting a dream; it is the visual language of the Unconscious.

About Seyburn Zorthian

View Profile »

The work Seyburn Zorthian has pursued for the last four decades is rooted in her early love of the American and European abstractionists of the forties and fifties. The direction and ongoing tenor of her painting was deeply influenced by her upbringing in a sophisticated social environment that exposed me to contemporary art, architecture, music (especially jazz), and design, as well as the art of the past masters.
