Part of the legendary James Bond series, “Diamonds Are Forever” features Sean Connery, the first actor to portray 007 in film. Released in 1971, the film was nominated for the Oscar in Best Sound the following year. This particular poster was created by Robert McGinnis, an illustrator and artist renowned for his various James Bond film posters.

Robert McGinnis (American, b. 1926) is an artist and illustrator known for illustrating more than 1,200 paperback book covers and over 40 movie posters. McGinnis studied fine art at the Ohio State University and would later apprentice at Walt Disney Studios. In 1958, the artist began working for Dell Publishing, illustrating paperback book covers. In 1993, McGinnis was elected into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame, joining the likes of Norman Rockwell, N.C. Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, Winslow Homer, Robert Peak, Frederic Remington and Frank McCarthy
