About Richard PrinceView Profile »
Richard Prince (American, b. 1949) is a painter and photographer living and working in New York City. Prince is best known for his use of appropriation, and re-photography. Most recognizably, his “Untitled (Cowboy),” a "re-photograph" that sold for more than $1 million at auction in 2005, caught Prince in the middle of scandal as he appropriated the image from another photographer without their consent. Scandal aside, he remains a pioneer in encouraging the accessibility of art.Interested in consigning works by Richard Prince? Learn more »
