About Paul Turounet

Paul Turounet received his MFA in Photography from the Yale University School of Art in 1995. For the following fifteen years, he photographed in Mexico, which he was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in 1997 and grants from the Trans-Border Institute in 2003 and 2004 from the University of San Diego. His work has been exhibited in the United States and internationally, including the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, Arizona, the New Mexico State University Art Gallery, the Aperture Gallery in New York, Centro Cultural Tijuana in Mexico, and the Moscow House of Photography in Russia. His most recent book, Estamos Buscando A, was recently shortlisted and a runner-up for the 2016 Paris Photo – Aperture Foundation First PhotoBook Award as well as being listed on the New York Times list of “Best Photobooks of 2016.” He is represented by jdc Fine Art | Chicago.
