Mike Figgis says that as a teenager, he “wanted to photograph women but found it to be awkward in the setting up.” He became transfixed by images in Vogue magazine and by the works of photographers Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Cartier Bresson. The present photograph was shot for a 2007 campaign for the lingerie company Agent Provocateur featuring Kate Moss.
