Description

Artist Statement: "'Exile” is a project that represents the inexorable condition of contemporary man, individualist and isolated, devoid of values, deprived of the Edenic state.

I employ symbols as metaphorical tools. In Freud's and Jung's modern psychology the mirror is the instrument of self-knowledge, a gnotis auton that helps to reach the subconscious. In my image the woman turns her back to the mirror as if she were in a deep, intimate fear.

The blanket used by the woman to cover herself, becomes a sort of hermit dress designed to remove from the woman's body the signs of her femininity, in order to force upon herself a path of atonement."
