Libby Black (Grad Fellow ’01-’02), a painter and sculptural installation artist, has exhibited nationally, including shows such as The Superfly Effect at the Jersey City Museum and New Image Sculpture at the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio. In California, her work was included in Bay Area Now 4 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in 2005 and the 2004 California Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach. She has also exhibited at numerous galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Black has been an artist in residence at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California, as well as SPACES in Cleveland. Her work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, ARTnews, Zink magazine, Flash Art, and The New York Times. She received a BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA from California College of the Arts. She lives in Berkeley.
