About Landon MetzView Profile »
Landon Metz (American, b. 1985) is a contemporary artist known for his large panel works that take their inspiration from the works of Morris Louis and the desert landscapes of Arizona. His process usually involves pouring diluted colors onto unpainted canvases for works that are egregiously monochromatic, organic, and implicative of “letting go” - a doubly descriptive intention that purports the value of release from artistic ego and greater faith in the procedural application of paint itself. His works serve as a testament to the longevity of the pictorial tradition, and the capacity for this medium to form relationships with the spectator, as he describes that “it’s the viewer that makes the painting.” He currently lives and works in New York.Interested in consigning works by Landon Metz?
