This photograph was taken at a multistoried abandoned pension in Spitz an der Donau, a tiny village with medieval roots in the Wachau region of Lower Austria. It highlights one of my favorite sites and photography projects that I worked on while I was attending an artist residency in Krems an der Donau, Austria.

About Joshua ChurchillView Profile »
Joshua Churchill is a cross-disciplinary artist who lives and works in San Francisco. His work explores the aesthetic, emotive, and historic qualities of environments that are in states of transition, disuse, or decay, often focusing on the crossroads between urban and rural, organic and inanimate. Through a variety of media, including site-specific sound and light installations and performances, video and photography, he creates work where the both the process and presentation traverse the spectrums of representative and abstract, light(ness) and dark(ness), ethereal and austere, in order to evoke the inherent mystery contained within such environments.Interested in consigning works by Joshua Churchill?
