John Alexander (American, b. 1945) is an artist who received his MFA from the graduate school at Southern Methodist University, Dallas. He moved to Houston upon graduation, becoming a member of the art faculty of the University of Houston. The artist is known for his works, which are largely informed by the southern landscape. Alexander moved to New York in the late 1970s, where he presently lives and works.
