About Jake and Dinos Chapman

View Profile »

Nominated for the Turner prize in 2003, brothers Jake (English, b. 1966) and Konstantinos “Dinos” Chapman (English, b. 1962) have been collaborating in painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture since the early nineties. The brothers’ 1991 sculpture “Disasters of War,” consisting of reshaped and hand painted plastic figurines reenacting scenes from Goya’s “Disasters of War,” first brought them to the attention of the art world. Religious, historical, and mythic narratives feature heavily in their work, and they have revisited Goya many times in sculpture and painting. Jake and Dinos Chapman currently live and work in London.
