About Jacqueline Humphries

View Profile »

Jacqueline Humphries (American, b. 1960) is a contemporary artist best known for her abstract, strong lines and shapes. Humphries studied in three prestigious programs at Parsons, Yale, and the Whitney Museum. Her oeuvre stands as a subtle, yet definitive compliment to more formalist abstraction and her works depict simple, soft lines all applied with a delicate, feminine touch. Humphries refers to her pictures as “non-paintings,” as she insists they are studies of complexity through simple forms. She lives and works in New York City.
