Manhattan native Ivy Dachman began her art studies at the age of 11 as a pupil at the Albert Pels School of Art in the Hotel Ansonia. She graduated from the High School of Music and Art, received a BFA in Painting from The Cooper Union and an MFA from Queens College CUNY. Ms. Dachman’s first one-person show in New York was at Painter’s Theatre Gallery when she was 20 years old. She has been in numerous group shows including The Drawing Center, Artist’s Space, The Hudson River Museum, and most recently The Katonah Museum. In 1998 Ms. Dachman was awarded a NYFA fellowship in painting. She currently lives in Croton on Hudson, NY and maintains a studio in Ossining, NY.
