Horst Paul Albert Bohrmann, better known as Horst P. Horst (German-American, 1906-1999), is a German-American photographer who first became famous capturing the glamour of the interwar period through portraits of Parisian high society. He is best known for his photographs of women and fashion, but he also shot still lifes and interior architecture. In his book “Horst Portraits: 60 Years of Style”, he claims, “I like taking photographs, because I like life. And I love photographing people best of all, because most of all I love humanity.”
