Harry Benson (Scottish, b. 1929) is a prolific documentary photographer whose subjects have included Robert F. Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and The Beatles, with whom he traveled on their first-ever tour of the United States. Benson’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including LIFE, Vanity Fair, and the New Yorker, and has earned him numerous prestigious awards, including an official commission for a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, shot in 2014 at the behest of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh.
