Fox’s exquisitely painted, candy-colored compositions are full of sly humor, sexual tension, and witty narratives. Typical of her subject matter, Fox often depicts figures behind closed doors or in compromising situations, raising questions of sexual, gender and age relations. Playing with scale and space, in Fox’s world, everyday scenes are rendered mysterious, funny or strange.
