About Eelus

View Profile »

Eelus (British, b. 1979) is a self-taught artist who currently lives and works in Brighton, England. In his late 20s, Eelus abandoned a career in commercial art to pursue street art full-time, a venture on which he initially embarked in 2002, when he cut and painted his first ever stencil inspired by the work of Banksy. Known for the senses of chromatic and emotional contrast evoked in his works, which often feature tongue-in-cheek pop cultural references, Eelus’s crisply detailed prints and paintings have been exhibited internationally, with recent solo shows at Spoke Gallery, San Francisco, and Ink_d Gallery, Brighton, UK.
