Christopher Wool (American, b. 1955) is an artist who now lives and works in New York. He is best known for his large paintings of black, stenciled or printed letters on white grounds, which he began developing in the late 1980s. Wool has produced several artists books using a variety of media, and has been exhibited and collecting internationally. He received a critically acclaimed retrospective at the Solomon R.
