About Chris Otcasek

View Profile »

Chris Otcasek (American) is an American artist known for his work using rudimentary in-phone applications and dated iPhone cameras. His photos typically ruminate over contemporary Southern California culture, capturing moments and images that are otherwise overlooked. His works, which he calls “urban still lifes” are greatly informed by his geographical landscape, borrowing from the spirit of the unconstructed scene or inverted moment. Informed by his traditional art background and extensive experience as an art director and Lead video games artist, Chris Otcasek notices the minute, and challenges their importance by positioning them at the forefront.
