Chittrovanu graduated from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata. A series of major solo exhibitions in Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai from the mid-80s to the end of the 90s established his reputation as one of the most innovative artists in India. He has subsequently been invited to participate in several prestigious group shows.
