Description

Known as one of the most celebrated jewelry designers of the 20 century, Belperron auctioned her personal collection at Sotheby’s in 2012 as a “white glove” sale, a highly rare event for fine jewel auctions. Here, this set, or demi-parure, features a brooch and ring that exemplify the designer’s sculptural approach as well as her fascination with the ancient cultures of Egypt and the Far East. Each is set with a large-faceted citrine within a heavy 18k gold mount and accented by star-set, old mine-cut diamonds. This set is accompanied by a certificate of authentication from Belperron, as she never signed her work, claiming, “my style is my signature.”
