NYC LGBT Community Center Launches Benefit Auction to Coincide with Annual Dinner Honoring the Honerable Hillary Rodham Clinton
More Than 20 Artworks to be Auctioned in Partnership with Paddle8 to Support The Center’s Fight for LGBT Rights
April 7, 2017, New York, NY — New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (The Center) announces the launch of its benefit auction, which will be live for bidding worldwide on Paddle8.com April 10 – 24, 2017. The auction coincides with The Center’s annual dinner, at which The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton will receive The Center’s Trailblazer Award, on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Cipriani Wall Street. More than 20 works by artists such as Alex Katz, Richard Prince, Deborah Kass, Katherine Bernhardt, Nicole Eisenman and Hanna Linden will be auctioned to benefit The Center’s mission of celebrating diversity and empowering people to live healthy, successful lives.
At the dinner, The Center will honor Hillary Clinton in recognition of her tireless work in the fight for full equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The Center will also honor distinguished fashion designer Marc Jacobs with its Visionary Award, as well as Jan Siegmund, Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ADP, with the Corporate Impact Award and Carmelyn P. Malalis, Chair and Commissioner of the New York City Commission on Human Rights, with its Community Impact Award.
Each year, Center Dinner brings together over 800 influencers and tastemakers in the LGBT community to raise funds for The Center’s programs and services, with a special emphasis on supporting youth programs. The Center is dedicated to empowering LGBT youth to become healthy, successful adults through substance use treatment and prevention, leadership and employment opportunities and HIV/AIDS prevention and education.
