Spotlight | The Drawing Center’s Annual Benefit Auction

The Drawing Center’s Fall Benefit Auction is now open for bidding on Paddle8! Established in 1977, the Drawing Center is the only organization that focuses exclusively on exhibiting drawings, both historical and contemporary, and it has been described by the New York Times as “one of the city’s most highly respected small art museums.” This year their auction coincides with their reopening after a year-long capital campaign and renovation of their exhibition space at 35 Wooster St which gives the organization 50% more programmatic space. The auction helps to provide critical funding for the Drawing Center’s programs and exhibitions.

The auction includes unique works by such prominent contemporary artists as Matthew Day Jackson, Paul McCarthy and Tom Sachs, as well as many more works from emerging artists.

Most works are up for auction, but several items are available to buy now, such as Inka Essenhigh’s pencil and watercolor on paper work. All other bids will transfer over to the live event on October 1, 2012, which is being held at Haunch of Venison Gallery (tickets can be purchased online here).

Don’t miss your chance to bid on these great works and support the Drawing Center’s important mission!
