The fall event season is upon us, and we have some excellent options for you to see and purchase great art, and support some worthy causes at the same time.


The only organization in the US that focuses on showing drawings – The Drawing Center – is holding an event at Haunch of Venison on October 1st. Funds raised through the silent and live auction will benefit their public programs and exhibitions. Check out and place bids on works by established artists such as Lawrence Weiner and Enoc Perez along with offerings from Jean-Phillipe Delhomme and Marcel Dzama. Tickets and more information available here. Place bids online from September 18th at noon to September 28th at 6pm EST, when bids will transfer to the live event.


GiveLove is a non-profit that works to create school lunch programs and eco-friendly sanitation projects to benefit children in Haiti. Contribute to their programs by bidding on artworks in their online auction curated by artist, Sterling Ruby. A blend of emerging and established artists are represented in the auction, including Amanda Ross-Ho, Raymond Pettibon and Sterling Ruby himself! The event and live auction will be held in Los Angeles on September 28th, with online bidding available September 17th at noon to September 28th at noon (all online bids will transfer to the live event).


“Take Home a Nude” is an event honoring Francisco Clemente that is held at Sotheby’s on October 18th to benefit the New York Academy of Art. Bid and preview the works from Academy members and world-renowned artists which will be auctioned at the event. Tickets are also available online to attend this glamorous evening, junior-chaired by Misha Nonoo and Paddle8’s Alexander Gilkes, in person. Artists represented in the auction include Steven Assael, Steve Mumford, and Hugo Guinness. Online bidding will take place from October 8th to October 17th, 6pm EST when bids will transfer to the live event.


Fall is the perfect time for a new bag, especially one that is also a work of art. In a unique collaboration, TWOxTWO has paired renowned designer Nancy Gonzalez with artists such as Will Cotton, Josephine Meckseper and Raqib Shaw to create one-of-a-kind versions of her crocodile Leaf Tote bag. Bids are accepted on these priceless works from October 4th at noon to October 18th at noon when they will be transferred to the live event, the TWOxTWO Gala benefitting AIDS research at amfAR and the Dallas Museum of Art on October 20th.
