American fashion designer Tory Burch embarks on a heartfelt love letter to New York City in a short film for the NY Times. The nostalgic film, created by filmmaker and DJ Tabitha Denholm, follows Burch as she gives her audience a tour of her favorite spots, including the Frick Collection Museum and the restaurant JG Melon. Burch reflects on the initial inspirations and wonders that first drew her to the city.
Burch, who is most famously known for her T-Medallion ballerina flat, also shares her fashion and art inspirations on her visual blog Torypedia. In each post, Burch begins with a letter from the alphabet, for example M is for Man Ray, B is for Bill Cunningham, and P is for Pink. These letters are paired with images representing her thoughts and inspirations.
