Founding Team


  • Aditya Julka
    Co-Founder and CEO
    A Harvard Business School Baker Scholar, McKinsey veteran and serial entrepreneur, Aditya has in his previous projects successfully merged his background in biotechnology, biochemical engineering and business.
    Aditya collects KAWS toys, urban artists including Banksy, contemporary Indian artists, and face masks from different regions of the world.

  • Alexander Gilkes
    Co-Founder
    First bitten by the art bug at Eton College, his interest evolved at LVMH, where, as one of the youngest members of an executive team, he helped revamp the Krug brand and business, before joining Phillips as marketing director and auctioneer. Today he continues his duties on the auction circuit.
    Alexander collects decanters, maps, busts, and contemporary artist toys.
  • Osman Khan
    Founding Partner and COO
    Osman has a diverse academic background, including an MBA from Harvard Business School. Previously, he was an investment banker in New York focused on M&A and private capital raising.
    Osman collects vintage cookbooks and cookware.

    James collects English drawings, Scottish caricatures, and the French neckties he no longer has to wear.

    Tim is a former specialist with Phillips de Pury. He began his career working with Private collectors prior to joining Phillips in 2000.
  • Jason Stein
    Senior Specialist, Design
    Jason comes to Paddle8 having spent the last 20 years in the Decorative Art and Design departments at Bonhams, Christie's and Butterfield & Butterfield. His specialties include custom works created by legends in the world of Design.

    Specialist
    Anastasia, or Tess, comes to Paddle8 from a Midwest auction house. Her specialties lie in Modern art and her work at the Art Institute of Chicago instilled in her a passion for Impressionism. She received her MA from the University of Chicago and her BA from Brown.
    Tess collects vintage glass perfume bottles, all shapes and sizes.
  • Mireya Lewin
    Specialist
    Mireya has experience in contemporary art, photography and finance, having worked with private, corporate and non-profit collectors. She holds an MA from Columbia and an MA and PhD from the Courtauld.
  • Matthew Knight
    Specialist
    Matthew holds a B.A. in Art History from Kingston University-London and U.M.K.C. and a M.A. from Christie's Education. He joins Paddle8 after 5 years experience as a Fine Art Expert for AXA Art Insurance.
    Matthew collects ephemera, works by artists that he knows personally and works from local artists from areas where he travels.
  • Vivian Brodie
    Junior Specialist
    Vivian comes to Paddle8 with a serious art addiction. Vivian is the co-founder of Y&S, a New York based non-profit that supports emerging artists, and held positions at Fab, David Tunick Inc. and Christie's prior to joining Paddle8.
  • Courtney Chapel
    Auction Administrator
    Courtney received her Masters in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art and her B.A. in Art History from Dartmouth. Previously, she held positions at the MFA Boston, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, and more.
    Courtney collects cheap street drawings/paintings from anywhere she travels.

    Auction Manager
    Maggie comes to Paddle8 with years of experience working with auction houses, artist foundations and museums. She received her MA from Sotheby's Institute of Art, London.
    Maggie collects vinyl records and select New Yorker issues (with particularly interesting cover art).

  • Holly Greenfield
    Head of Benefit Auctions, Americas
    Holly comes to Paddle8 with extensive experience working with museums and non-profits on fundraising and event production. She was previously VP at Livet Reichard Company and received a Masters from Columbia University.
    Holly collects spices.
  • Nicolas Gitton
    Head of Benefit Auctions, Europe and Asia
    After several museum experiences, Nicolas spent 4 years working on museum development projects in Asia, Europe and the Middle East with former Guggenheim Director Thomas Krens. Nicolas holds a business degree from Paris HEC Business School and an art history degree.
    Nicolas collects Franco-Belgian original comic book art and post war American contemporary multiples, as well as nice bottles of old Bordeaux.

    Director, Special Projects & Client Development
    With a decade of experience in curatorial practice and arts management, most recently at BAM, Dave joins Paddle8 with broad creative and fundraising expertise.
    Dave collects contemporary art, particularly small works on paper and photography.
  • Eugenie York
    Benefit Auctions Manager
    Eugenie joins Paddle8 from London, with a B.A in combined honors, majoring in English Literature and History of Art. Her passion for art led her to work previously at Christie's and the Royal Collection. She has also had experience with numerous charities over the years.

    Benefit Auctions Manager
    Emily recently completed studies in Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art. She previously worked on fundraising events at the BC Cancer Foundation after studying History and Art History at University of Victoria.

    Ashley comes to Paddle8 with years of experience working at non-profits, museums, and in other creative industries. She has her BA from the University of Western Ontario and her MA from the University of the Arts.

    Kate brings experience in art fair production, art advisory, and collection management. She has an art history degree and received her MA from Sotheby's Institute.
    Kate collects artwork by emerging contemporary artists and small elephant statues.

    Sarah comes to Paddle8 after working in development and event production with various non-profits. She holds a degree in art history.

    Elizabeth became interested in the art market while studying Art History and Economics at the University of Vermont. She has since worked at a range of art institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sotheby's, Gander & White as well as for galleries and for artists.
    Elizabeth collects passport stamps, wine corks and jewelry.

    Delania joined Paddle8 from Sotheby's Jewelry department. She studied art history and business at NYU, working in the fashion world before returning to the art world.
    Delania collects vintage jewelry and illustrated letters from her grandmother.

    CTO
    Luke comes from a combined art and big media background having been the VP of Technology at Viacom Media Networks for 10 years and being a practicing digital artist. Luke brings deep experience in both art and digital operations to Paddle8.
  • Adam Dinwiddie
    Head of Product
    Adam likes art and the internet. He has worked for companies like Nestio, Collectrium, and Wall Street on Demand. Adam studied computer science and linguistics at Columbia University.
    Adam collects sweaters and old jazz records.
  • Tim Thorpe
    Developer
    With a degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo, Tim brings a wealth of experience and expertise in web application development to Paddle8. He has been the lead developer at startups around the New York City area.
    Tim collects screen printed art, and coffee paraphernalia.
  • Tim Evans

    Tim is a self professed JavaScript junkie and SproutCore core team member. In his spare time, he plays in the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra and enjoys making ice cream.

    Ramsay is steadfastly focused on all intersections of art and technology, both as a developer and an artist. Previously, he was the Media and Technology Manager at The Kitchen and studied Design & Technology at Parsons The New School For Design.

    Alejandro is a Colombian graphic designer, who creates comprehensive brand experiences for clients in the arts and non-profit sectors. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2008 and has previously worked in the publishing industry and now focuses on branding.
  • Georgia McElveen
    Designer
    Georgia graduated from Parsons The New School for Design with a degree in Design and Technology. She began her career as a gallerist, focusing on contemporary art while co-curating shows.
    Georgia collects Homies.
  • Ben Gold
    Designer
    Ben only recently became legally able to purchase alcohol. He's worked at neat places like Tumblr and Foursquare. It's unlikely that he will finish his college degree anytime soon.
    Ben collects Swiss Army knives.

    Sarah comes to Paddle8 with deep experience in art communications, most recently at Pace Gallery, where she handled press worldwide, and, prior to that, at Resnicow Schroeder, consulting with art museums. She graduated from Brown.
    Sarah collects Sarah Kurz, back issues of Vogue, and Chloé flats.
